Awesome meeting and first play through of “uncertain light” by young British composer Aled Smith, who astonished me with incredible attention to detail, focus and passion for his music. Can’t wait to give the world premiere at the Royal Fes>tival Hall this Saturday, part of the Royal Philharmonic Society‘s bicentenary celebrations. 6pm pre concert talk […]

A typical Saturday…

I was very honoured to receive an invitation for a breakfast meeting with “woman” conductor Marin Alsop, Jude Kelly, Artistic Director at Southbank Centre, Gillian Moore, Head of Classical Music at Southbank and Jessica Duchen journalist about Women in Classical Music yesterday morning. Last few days in Durban and a few photos of St James on Venice Hotel, which was my home for a week, the church opposite, the harbour, Florida road and the House of Curries, my ‘throne’ and Il Shaka Marine World. Wonderful memories and an exceptional first visit to South Africa.

Concert in Cardigan

Travelled for 7 hours (!!!) to Wales and had a very enjoyable concert this evening in Cardigan. The audience was amazing and my hosts were incredibly welcoming- the Lady of the house is French, so it was very fitting to have a proper cheese board at the end of supper. Delicious! Tomorrow back to London […]

This evening I was privileged to be an Ambassador on the Women of the Future Ambassadors Programme, which was held at the Bloomberg News quarters. The initiative is Pinky Lilani‘s, a hugely passionate and inspirational supporter of women of all colours and creeds, whose opening speech was breath taking: “You have not lived a day […]
