I thought the day before yesterday was exhausting and quite difficult, well that’s because I never thought I’d play in 2 different countries on the same day but that time has come! Incredibly enjoyable rehearsal in Bucharest with the Princess Margareta Foundation Orchestra and Tiberiu Soare. The kids are amazing, so much enthusiasm and love for the music!

I then had leg it to the airport, but not before I gave a little interview for the National Television News team (you can watch it here http://observator.tv/eveniment/alexandra-dariescu-va-concerta-pe-scena-ateneului-roman-137579.html)

I got to Berlin on time, at 4.30pm and had a lovely chap form the orchestra pick me up. He didn’t speak a word of English so I tried (very hard) to make conversation…What was supposed to take an hour to Dessau, it took 2.5h because of the horrible rain and rush hour in Berlin…I finally got to the Theatre at 6.45, right in time for my rehearsal.

Who says I need any warming up…? Right, Tchaikovsky- take 2 for the day! The orchestra, Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau and Antony Hermus are absolutely amazing!

My first time with them but it’s very special, as Dessau is my husband’s home town. So the whole German side of the family will be there for the 2 concerts I’m playing on Oct 23 and 24th. We rehearsed until 9pm, when I could feel a little tremor in my legs. I then realised I hadn’t eaten anything the whole day! So, room service came and I literally inhaled that beautiful food! zzzzzzz till tomorrow!
